VARIABLE TEMPERATURE VISIBLE U.V. DEWAR/CELL
This unusually versatile fused quartz cell is constructed in two parts: an outer Dewar jacket 611770, and an inner solution cuvette 611772. Cooling at fixed temperatures may be achieved by liquid refrigerants such as liquid nitrogen or Freon's. Greater flexibility in the choice of sample temperature may be achieved by liquid nitrogen boil-off cooling. The large windows allow the study of back-scattered luminescence on frozen glasses as well as more conventional low temperature absorption experiments.
The ground and polished quartz windows permit the determination of spectra from 180 nm to 2600 nm. Solution cuvette path length is 10 mm. Cuvettes with path lengths of 1 mm, 2 mm, 5 mm, and 30 mm are available by quotation. This cell will fit the sample chamber of the Cary 11, 14, and 15, as well as the Beckman Acta III; and other spectrometers with similar cell compartments.
